Obedience is something he really loves to do and that makes him the perfect dog for these kind of tests. Once again the training and socializing paid off, his energy and intelligence surprising us everyday. She loves to be out in the field, following our commands. Training for her Advance Training Test went smooth with Aífe showing us her drive and eagerness to please. That extra time taken really allowed us to polish her obedience skills and fine tune the bit of distractibility she faces every now and again. She's over all been exceptional and we are very proud of her progress. Obedience isn't usually are preferred sport, but she gives us just a bit of that itch to pursue it competitively rather than just as a necessity of life and other sports. She did so very well and we couldn't ask more from a ball and prey-obsessed dog than calmly relinquishing a toy.

Obedience is something that clicks with her well and that's evident here too. Admittedly, while training, the ''stay'' command did take us some extra time to master, as she's still a Pyr after all. I'm very happy to see how easy-going she is, and going forward I'm sure we'll get to see more of that playing into her performance at various trials.

He's a very calm dog during training, but him being a young dog means that has its limits of course. A calm walk and being left alone are well within his abilities. Jack is quite fond of his stuffed animals and other playthings, he can be quite toy-oriented but we know how to turn that to our advantage in training. Due to great socializing by his breeder and now our RHR team, Jack is a very polite dog around strangers. He will keep his distance in the beginning, but is open to meeting new people and dogs. Overall Jack did a wonderful job and we couldn't be happier to have him here at Red Hills Ranch. We adore our GSD's and Jack is another wonderful example why we do.

He has a great on-off switch, but working time is clearly his favourite time. His love for work keeps him in a very active state throughout the day, making patience and waiting games his least liked exercises. This doesn't mean he can't exel at them, as he showed us in the first 2 exercises. They were the harder ones to master, but his drive and work ethic got him there after our training sessions. He never really hoarded toys or food so protectiveness was not really a problem there. With strangers he is calm and collected, but he also needs time to get to know other people and dogs. He won't come running of to visitors and likes his alone time with people and animals he knows. Eben is just such a lovable guy, you really want to work with him to get to know him better. He's not an open book, but he doesn't have to be. We are excited to see what the future holds for our first ACD pup!

We knew obedience was going to be one of her strong suits and it really reflects in these puppy tests. She has a more laid-back personality, so strangers are usually not much of a problem. Having a look at new people from a distance is perfect for Busby, she would much rather want to go back to one-on-one time with her handler. What Busby sometimes lacks in the high energy department, she doubles in focus. Be clear and consistent as her handler and she will reward you with her best behaviour and try her very best at the training!
