INTERVIEW QUESTIONS
Owner:
My passion for dogs started since I was born, the first time I competed a dog was when I was seven years old, since then I haven't stopped showing dogs. Both of my parents are dog trainers and handlers, and when I was ten years old I could even train dogs by myself, even tho I love purebred dogs, I really like strays dogs, I have rescued and adopted before, as you can see my life has been full of dogs since I have memory, but my favorite kind of dogs are the herders, every kind of herder, from a Pembroke Welsh Corgi to a Old English Sheepdog, they all have something special, that's why I got Paul, he is my first Australian Shepherd and he has stolen my heart, something I really love of competing with Paul is that when he enters to the ring he already knows what to do, how to act, he shines, Paul has made a very strong connection with me, in the ring he acts so natural, if someone else handled Paul he would still shine and try to make his best on the ring but I think it wouldn't be the same connection between him and the handler.
Dog:
Paul...Paul what I can tell bad about him? he is perfect! he is the nicest, smartest and special dog I have ever owned, he is addicted to tennis balls, I have bought more than 50 tennis balls just for him, he loves tennis balls and his favorite treat, peanut butter, but talking again about tennis balls, Paul only entertains himself with tennis balls, he doesn't like other kind of toy, well just the Kong toy when it has peanut butter on the inside, and when he is with me he likes to sleep on my lap. Paul loves conformation shows, he was like born for it, he is spectacular, that connection he has with me inside the ring and outside the ring is so strong that even judges can see it, Paul loves above anything me, but after me are his tennis balls and conformation shows, he can't live without the crowd, the cheers, he loves that, I think when it will be time to retire him he will suffer for not competing and seeing the lights, the crowd, winning, he loves conformation so much, he can distinguish the show leash from the everyday walk leash, he knows which treats are for going to the ring and which ones are for training, he is very intelligent oh and her best friend Gabby, she is my red merle Australian Shepherd, she is Paul's competing partner, they are always together, they train together and they compete together, they always fight for the "Best Of Breed". Paul always is training, he loves to train 'till he get super tired, but when he is not training he is trying to swallow as many tenis balls he can fit in his mouth, or playing with Gabby and the other aussies I own.
How was your year:
2019 was like a rodeo for both of us, we placed very often and Paul finally got this year his Champion title, he really enjoyed 2019 and I think his favorite show was his first show, it was his first time seeing the crowd, the cheers, the lights, all for him.
Extra:
In 2020 I would like Paul to get more conformation titles and winnings, and maybe a breeding, those puppies will come with conformation material!
Once I found Paul on my sofa with a whole jar of peanut butter, he was stuck licking the jar and his paws were all sticky, after he got a bath he jumped out of the tub, run to my bathroom and drank water from the toilet...He hasn't done that again since then.
Another story, one time Paul puked green hair I knew he ate a tennis ball, so I went with him to the vet, for my surprise he didn't ate one tennis ball, he ate 3! I figured out that those tennis balls were cheap and soft that's why he ate them, now I know I need to buy rough and expensive tennis balls for him...
