Sled Dog Race 1500
About[/b] The 1500 Sled Dog Race is a long-distance, multi-day race. Mushers and their teams will need to cover 1500km along the trail to reach the finish line. The race requires self-sufficiency, resilience, and a strong bond between team and musher to make it through the long frozen days and nights.
This is a team scoring trial! Dogs will be scored by positions and will earn points towards position specific titles. Each pair will evenly share points to better highlight the importance of each position on the team.
» Up to two reserve dogs may be noted in case of a needed dog swap (injury, spooked on trial, exhaustion, refusal to continue for any reason, illness, ect). Reserve dogs will not get points unless they get swapped in to finish the race - if swapped they’ll split any earned points evenly with the dog that they replaced.
» This is a two part trial! The trial will include a "Race Start" entry period and will close off with a "Race Finish" entry period. Teams must complete both legs of the race to qualify for scoring!
» First to cross the finish line will be determined by the highest overall combined score of the first and second legs of the race, second to cross the finish line will be determined by the highest overall score in the first leg of the race, and third to cross the finish line will be determined by the highest overall score in the second leg of the race.
As with all Utility and Versatile trials we expect you to be well aware of what your breed is capable of, expect harsh judgement or disqualification should you enter a breed that is clearly not suited for this trial. [/div][/ul] Judges[/b] Kaiser » Reserve Judge: TBD [/div] » Results: Judge permitting.[/ul] RACE STARTDates[/b] 14 November 2019 » End Date: 25 November 2019 @ 11:59PM PDT Race Finish entry date will be announced following Race Start entry closure.

We made some really good time on the first stretch of the race, enough so that we gave the first check point a skip and are planning to instead camp out at the end of the day once the dogs have gotten their fill. ![](https://i.postimg.cc/T34pCWS4/SIKCNov-Sled2019-A.png) ![](https://i.postimg.cc/K8z1P59T/SIKCNov-Sled2019-B.png) ![](https://i.postimg.cc/MKtcfLYx/SIKCNov-Sled2019-C.png)

Due to extenuating circumstances, we have decided to award all teams 3 points, which have been awarded to each of their dogs. We apologize for the very long delay.
