Established in 2017 and located in Kingswood, Ireland as of May 2019; Blue Rivers is home to a variety of breeds. Though our passion is with working dogs, with a focus in Schutzhund and Scent Work, our primary focus is with the South American and European Dobermann, Caucasian Ovcharka, along with our Czechoslovakian Vlcaks for herding work. The kennel is located on just about 450 acres of lush land and flanked by a beautiful glen just inside the property line. These are working grounds home to a number of livestock and horses, our herders and livestock guardians are every bit the working dogs that have jobs they love to do when not competing. We feed all dogs a fully raw diet cultivated primarily from the animals and produce from our land.

About Us

Love, Loyalty, Friendship. We strive to correct misconceptions about these breeds and work hard to promote healthy breeding habits while upholding breed standards. These breeds can be a handful and we are very careful about potential new homes for all dogs; we want them to live a full, happy, and healthy lives whether the dogs are going to be working, competing, or simply companions and we aim to make sure owners are well prepared and well informed.

Blue Rivers Rescue is primarily a Dobermann rescue that takes in hard to place, unwanted, aggressive, disabled, and retired show dogs; we also take in various other breeds but as that isn't often we are happy to offer recommendations to other rescues if we're not able to accommodate the breed.

STAFF & HOUSEHOLD
We highly believe in 'quality over quantity' when it comes to our staff members.
The kennel has been a family run business from the start and we aim to keep that in mind when we consider bringing on new personel. On top of the kennel and rescue the main grounds are part of a working farm that includes staff to watch over the various livestock, horses, and crops.
Our current on-site staff consists of a behaviourist, nutritionist, & a veterinarian.

UPDATES INCOMING : ☆ This includes flash litter puppies, rescues, imports, and puppies from previous litters. After today these dogs will all be fully retired. If there's a dog you're interested in, that you believe may be in an inactive home, please contact us today! ☆ Your current breeding contract is irrelevant. Those were created in good faith only for me to continue to see people attempting to copy my dogs or outright trying to register them. Until further notice ALL dogs on a contract other than a Full Rights one MUST send us a list of potential owners for any puppies produced by a dog from Blue Rivers for vetting purpose. This is a retroactive change!This doesn't matter if only the sire or dam is from BR, any dog from us (flash, rescue, sample, normal litter, import, ect.). If we veto a potential owner we expect you to respect that, we will not be explaining why we veto someone, but owners are free to direct these people to us for further explanation. This will also extend to those doing collab litters. You must get approval from us if using a dog from BR for a collab, if we veto the collab partner we expect you to respect our decision. ☆ I don't know how to more clearly express how important it is for dogs from BR to only be breed with the intention to better the breed. Dogs being bred to foundation stock should only be happening if there are no other options (collab with people! We don't mind line mixing for most breeds as long as it's well thought out!), dogs being bred to unproven and untitled fresh faced stock should not be happening, our dogs being bred despite doing poorly in whatever discipline they focus on should not be happening, dogs that are incapable of performing well in the job the breed best excels at should not be bred unless they perform strongly in other areas. Please remember that Blue Rivers does NOT breed companion dogs, our stocks regardless of breed are workers first and foremost. They ALL have high working drives, they should ALL be capable of doing a job of some sort - if they aren't they should NOT be bred. I had originally left things kind of vague in my contracts in the hopes that this wouldn't be an issue but since it is I'm going to crack down on it a bit.
