 | Welcome to the SWGC's Open French Ring trial!
About: French Ring is a personal protection sport originally developed, in France, to test potential breeding stock for their working ability. The sport has since evolved into one of the most technically challenging in the canine sporting world.
'While French Ring will typically require dogs to have earned a 1A/1B on their BST (Behaviour Stability Test), as this is the first trial hosted on the SIKC we will be opening this trial up for all dogs (within reason) to enter!
We would like to thank the DPC for once again offering to sponsor this event! All rewards will be funded through them.'

REQUIREMENTS - REGULAR
» Dogs must be intact and of healthy breeding stock.
» Dogs may be of any group including Novus, within reason. Please know your breeds limits!
» Dogs must be over the age of 2 years.
» Handlers must be over the age of 18 years to participate.
» Dogs must have earned their 1A and/or 1B grade to participate.
» Off standard dogs may enter this show providing they are healthy breeding stock.
REQUIREMENTS - RNG

» Arena must be on the SWGC French Ring Field 1 on a relatively clear day. » Handlers can wear casual attire fitting the weather; nothing tattered, dirty, or midriff showing. Keep in mind what exercises you'll be doing!» Dogs must wear a collar, harness, or muzzle unless otherwise indicated. » Lot download: Message Blue Rivers . TRIAL INFO
Please make sure you're clear on the rules and that you follow them when participating. Pictures of an incorrect size, death, pregnancy/nursing, retirement of a dog before results are posted, additional pictures exceeding the required amount, or editing of a post without permission from an Admin, Mod, or Judge will result in disqualification!
CLASSES
» Open // This class if for dogs that have earned their 1A and/or 1B grade for the BST.
» RNG // This class is for dogs that are not eligible/able to take the BST for any reason. |
| PICTURE REQUIREMENTS - OPEN
» At least 1 but up to 2 Pictures required, must show any part of one of the exercises requested. No additional pictures.
» Pictures must be exactly 850 x 500px no bigger or smaller, well lit and of good quality. Editing allowed within reason.» The arena, judge, decoy, and/or crowd sims must be visible if the exercise calls for them.
» Pictures must show the dog in full as well as the handler in full for any jump or paliside exercises.
» Images entered into previous shows may be used. » 1 dog per post.
REQUIREMENTS - RNG
» At least 1 but up to 2 Pictures may be included if you would like to be eligible for 1 re-roll. Your re-rolled number will be the final number regardless of it being higher or lower than the previous one.

» Pictures must show the dog in full as well as the handler in full for any jump or paliside exercises.

Open - pick any 2 exercises» On leash, normal pace heel - straight // While leashed, handler maintains a normal pace until they reach the next marker. Dog may not be muzzled.» On leash, long down // Dog is placed in a long down at the correct marker and holds for 1 minute. Dog must remain leashed.» Send away, mark 2 // While handler remains at the first away marker dog is instructed to run to the 2nd marker then return to sit or down at the handler's side. » Up and over, mondioring palisade // Dog is sent over the palisade with the sloped backside and must make a full contact dismount. No assistance but handler must be close enough to help should dog get stuck.» Guard Object // Dog is commanded to stand with front feet inside the basket then left alone to guard. Decoy should only be bitten if they are within reach of the dog, barking warnings should be used otherwise until released. RNG - pick any 1 Exercise, 1 Weather Condition, and 1 Start Time» Off leash, slow pace heel - straight // While unleashed, handler slows pace until they reach the next marker. Dog may not be muzzled.» Off leash, walking sit // Without breaking pace handler commands dog into a sit, once handler reaches the next marker dog should be recalled into a heel. » Distance positions, sit and down - mark 2 // With dog placed on mark 2 handler remains on mark 1 and commands dog into a sit then down without either moving any closer to the other.
