INTERVIEW QUESTIONS
Owner: A returned import, I saw serious potential with Diablo being paired with a Junior Handler. His eager, go getter attitude reminded me of Peter, who I had met previously at a Junior event. I emailed him unsure if he’d ever been matched yet and I received a reply almost immediately. There’s that eagerness I was talking about!
Handler: I began handling my grandmothers French Bulldogs as soon as I was able! I particularly liked watching the Sporting Group and handled for a Weimaraner breeder for a few years, primarily in conformation, before moving to Willow Creek. I kinda had to restart when I moved, and most of my friends are also Juniors now. I want to become a professional handler in the future.
Dog: Anything that matches his energy keeps his attention. He’s definitely a potential sports dog - if I can capture his attention long enough that is. We would have to learn that together, as I'm brand new to that side of things, its kinda second nature to D thankfully. His ball is his high reward and a squeak or one bounce n’ catch is plenty to keep him interested, rather we are training for conformation or trials. Agility is shaping up to be one of his favorite things to train in, I see it “click” with him very quickly!
How was your year: We have just begun to get to know each other, I’m honored to be handling Diablo and work under Macabre. I’m sure there are plenty of things in store for us.
Extra: Getting all the basics down with Diablo and working together as a more cohesive team is a big goal of mine, he’s got a lot of untapped focus under all that puppy brain. We are enjoying this fleeting time together and finding some balance in letting him lead the way and hit our goals. He takes every opportunity to outsmart me and keeps me on my toes. He recently thought "Why take all the stairs when I could clear about half in one leap?" You can probably guess how that went for me, who was leashed to him.
