INTERVIEW QUESTIONS
Owner: I began with sports and mutts! I observed lots of tried and true lines and gained a respect for the purebred dog through there. My wife and I started dreaming up Macabre many years prior to its inception with poodles in mind. I was shocked how hard I fell for my first Affie! I had always liked simple and direct dogs, I was put off by the general aloofness of sighthounds. They are cat like and goofier than I could have ever imagined. Tilda was exactly what we were looking for for our program and we immediately jumped on the opportunity. I began handling her to lighten Pru's workload and now I refuse to "give her back". Building her confidence and watching her mature in the ring has been wonderful.
Dog: Tilda loves her Afghan counterpart, Dracula and they are inseparable whether sleeping, playing, or planning. She is a serious jumper and scales 6ft barriers with ease - she's now on strictly leash walks only. Now if we can channel that jumping to something productive. She's currently taking cheese as a high reward treat, this is constantly changing though. She naps only on the nice cool tile and detest all dog beds and cots. Tilda is a great ambassador for the breed, she's patient and tolerant of the groups of people she attracts. Maybe more so than me!
How was your year: We have just begun competing at the end of 2020 and Tilda has already surpassed our goals. She took 1st in her group at her second show and beat out our well-seasoned Afghan at Nationals, great confirmation that our program is heading the right way!
Extra: We are reaching for the stars with this lovely girl! Participating in sport, achieving her Ch title, and passing her health testing are a few things to look forward to!
