INTERVIEW QUESTIONS
Owner: This was a bit of a weird world to come into. The folks had a litter not long after we came to live with them and it was a bit of an eye-opener and a whole lot overwhelming. Once things settled down I started tagging along to what local shows I could and quickly fell in love with the idea. I didn't do as much junior handling as my brother is getting to but what I did get to do I had a blast with and it's been just as fulfilling to continue doing as an adult.
Dog: Liv was the first dog that I truly had complete responsibility for and oh man was she a challenge! She has the notoriety of being one of the first of her line to complete the IWERD without a carry permit for a really good reason, she's strong-willed and intelligent - not really one to let anyone force her to do anything she wasn't already planning to do. She's a natural at working alongside a horse and has been a very fun riding companion since the day we brought her home. She's pretty easy to please, for the most part, preferring to sleep outside than in the house or a kennel. Not quite as handler focused or personable as her line tends to be she's still a steadfast companion.
How was your year: Good, but quiet, I've been so focused on school that competing with Liv has taken a bit of a backseat. But even so, she's still managed to earn her Champion title with some high placements, managing to grab a BOO as well. She's had a blast with the few Road Dog trials, placing 1st consistently, but hasn't quite had the experience to earn that title.
Extra: A litter is for sure in her future, one we've been planning since the start, and I'm stoked to finally be getting to that point. She'll be our foundation for a Service line, lending her steady disposition and intelligence. After that, we'll be shooting for that Road Dog title before we start laying out any more goals.
