INTERVIEW QUESTIONS
Owner: My parents had been showing and competing with Dobermann since long before I was born, though they'd never done more than co-owned dogs themselves. We had housed more than one Champion over the years and I started showing and competing myself in Junior shows pretty early on. Just before opening the kennel I managed to stumble on Gabby's breeder, she'd come back to their home relatively young and they were looking to get her placed with someone more familiar with the breed - it was a lucky match for sure and I couldn't be happier with her addition to our family and breeding program.
Dog: She's always been a bit of a couch potato, just as happy to cuddle up in front of the fire with us as she was to prance around the show ring. t took her a while to her stride but once she did, she was off! She's performed so beautifully for us the last few years but even so, the nationals win feels like t completely blindsided us, we couldn't be more proud of our girl. She's a lovely mother, attentive but firm with her broods and has produced some absolute stunners
How was your year: Gab has had a pretty solid year, though a bit slow, she's had some pretty high placements for all the shows she's entered. Multiple Best in Shows and a couple BOB/BOO nominations. Considering how much she struggled to even place early on in her career we're a bit flabbergasted at how well she's matured and settled into her career, it's no surprise that her pups are following in her footsteps.
Extra: She's hit all the goals we had for her, it's pretty crazy! She earned her Grand Champion Supreme as well as winning the National Championships, we don't have much more to shoot for to be perfectly honest. She'll be paired with Lee for one last litter in the near future but other than that our girl is getting very close to a cushy retirement bossing the younger dogs around.
