27 October, 2018[/a] is still open! Notice[/a] the Sims team will be updating the version of Python they use in the game, basically this means that the all script mods will stop working until they have been re-compiled by their creators with the updated version; including Pose Player and the Teleportal, both of which are integral aspects to how our shows and trials work. As we have no timeline on when Andrew will be able to get either mod updated we'll be allowing the reuse of photos for at least Novembers Conformation show and trials. This way should you want to update your game for the new pack or to explore the terrain tools and other new stuff you won't be blocked out of also participating here.[/ul] New & Upcoming We're starting our planning on the upcoming Winterfest! Similar to our Summer Gala, Winterfest will include a host of various Winter themed shows and trials. We'll also be holding our very first Sledding Trial so make sure to get your team dogs registered! » Kennel Name Registration will be added to the site in the near future! A kennels name, prefix, and suffix are integral parts of the experience and registration is a way to help guarantee that no one else uses yours or one extremely similar. Will make another announcement once this goes live. » Very happy to announce that we'll be adding two new group/breed specific Tests and one new pleasure trial! More information on each will be given as we get closer to opening them. Hunt Test (titles available) - an individual test made in order to test the breeding lines of hunting stock. This format is a non-competitive, standardized method of testing breed.» ZTP Test - evaluates the dog’s conformation and character to help determine if they are a suitable candidate for a breeding program - focusing on both type and temperament. Passing grade required to participate in French Ring.» French Ring Trial (titles available) - a dog sport that includes various exercises in both obedience and protection and requires completion of a behavioural and soundness test (ZTP Test). [/ul][/ul][/ul]

10 December, 2018[/a]! » We're looking for more Judges! Check out the Staff Applications thread and apply if that's of interest to you. WINTERFEST[/a] along with the related Photo Contest. Like the Fun in the Sun event series, this month we'll have Winter Holiday themed shows and trials. [/ul] New Additions The Breed Stability Test is now active! Open to specific breeds with a tendency towards sharp or overly aggressive temperaments, the BST evaluates the dog’s conformation and character to help determine if they are a suitable candidate for a breeding program to help ensure that lines stay healthy. A passing grade for this test will be required to compete in future French Ring trials. » Retirement Form - We've added a Retirement Form for those dogs that are ready to be retired for any reason. Make sure that you're sure about this as you cannot un-retire a dog! » Title Application Changes - In the hopes of making the process smoother for everyone we've changed the way applications for titles work. You'll now need to fill out the form, located on the site here or in the forums here, your monetary reward and certificates will be messaged to you once it's been confirmed that a title has been earned. Please make sure that your records are up to date before you submit your title application. Along with this we've added a Title Registry! Here you'll be able to view all dogs that have earned titles as well as check the status of your application. The old application thread has been moved to the archives should you want to check that for any reason.[/ul][/ul]

20 February, 2019 - Update we're trying our best to stay on-top of things, but due to the weather playing havoc with at least a couple of us, computer issues, schooling, and moving we're still a bit behind. Sincerest apologies from the staff, part of why we have and want to include multiple admins is to avoid these sorts of issues but life has a way of intruding. Updates to the forums and site are still being worked on, albeit slowly for the moment, and hopefully we'll be able to share those with everyone in the near future. Event Deadlines and ExtensionsStaff[/a] thread and send the Admin account your application! A huge thanks to PLSR BULLIES for staying on-top of registrations for us, her contributions have given us the chance to focus on the other behind the scenes aspects.[/ul] Instagram Accounts & Our Currency A lot of moderation goes on behind the scenes and we would very much prefer our currency not be used for a 3rd party source. If something goes wrong, someone scams you, too much/little money is sent to an account, ect we cannot intervene as mods/admins. Including refunding money, fixing account balances, ect. For those that aren't keen on the sporting/showing aspect of the community and prefer storytelling, buying/selling animals, breeding, ect. we highly encourage you to make use of our Photo Album sections or the upcoming Pet Home section of the forums. Both are places where you can tell your stories (just like you do on IG) and share images with the community. Pet homes are just as important of an aspect to breeding dogs and kennels as a show/competition home, and we hope that these spaces will give you an in-community way to tell your stories, make new friends, and sell your dogs along with the administrative backup should you run into issues with someone. 16 July, 2019 - Update Money is still being manually added to accounts but we now require that you complete one of the forms located in this post ( link) before we do so. 2. The Photo, Journal, and Training Journal categories in the Non-Kennel Home Section now pay out money for full replies and quick replies to threads! Not only is this a way for those who are here just to share some stories about their sims and their dogs to earn a little money to fund buying puppies and/or services, we're hoping it'll be a nice incentive for people to really get involved with the RP aspect of the community outside of shows and events. 3. We do still really want to stress that we do not want SIKC funds to be used outside of the SIKC. If someone has no intention of ever participating in our forums (including the Non-Kennel homes) we ask that you please do not require them to pay you for a dog/puppy with SIKC money. This is as much for our own peace of mind as it is for you, as we cannot step in and deal with things should an issue arise if things are being done through IG, tumblr, ect. 4. Please, please only register your dogs or kennels if you intend to participate in the SIKC. We really don't want to see our registries get clogged up and it's incredibly unfair to those who DO want to participate to have kennels holding a name/prefix/suffix when they aren't planning to be involved in our community.[/ul][/ul][/ul][/ul][/ul]

27 July, 2019 - UpdateWe are proud to announce that two individuals have stepped up as new members of the SIKC team. Please welcome @faringdonkennels as the newest addition to our Judges. Furthermore, please extend a welcome to San Junipero as the newest Mod to join us! They will both be helping out Imögen and I with the general management of the site, and so feel free to message to them for assistance as is relevant to their role with SIKC! Novus Breeds/Applications are at maximum capacity and, at this time, no longer being accepted. SIKC currently has a great amount of Novus breeds in proportion to its existing breeds being used here. As we are centered around breeds that currently exist, we want to ensure proper population control! Similar to our clubs, we are also going to be implementing a more stringent application process in order to promote realism in dog breeds that users create! Rest assured, users will be able to apply with their created breeds as our community grows. Breed Club and Group Club Applications are temporarily closed. We will not be accepting anymore applications at this time. This reason is two-fold. Currently, the staff team does not have enough time to work with and teach new potential leaders on our expectations and preferences in regards to these clubs. They will reopen at a later date, but we will be looking to entirely overhaul our application process before that time comes! We've spoken with everyone that has applied as of 06.25.2019 in regards to their application. If you were in contact with us in regards to a club but have not responded to us in the last few weeks, please understand that your application should now be considered as denied. Anyone that uses our old application forms after this announcement date should understand that they may not be necessarily denied, but will not be offered their club choice until we have overhauled our application process and another request has been turned in - this may be several months from now, though we hope to have updates completed swiftly. Thank you for your understanding! Hunt TestLitter Registration Rule Update[/ul]

17 August, 2019 - Sims Kennel Association Forum Integration & New SIKC/SKA-Affiliated Agencies The SIKC will still operate just as it always has. Both teams have simply decided that, for convenience and participation, it would be far simpler to house these sister kennel clubs on the same forum and location! As such, you will notice that a new forum section has been made and dedicated entirely to SKA shows (since their titles are earned independently). Small differences will still exist, such as how shows are judged but we feel that this will help offer some variety and additional participation options for individuals without the inconvenience of tracking multiple forums. Both kennel clubs will also be using the SIKC Registry, meaning you will not have to maintain so many different identifiers for your dogs! Be sure to check out the Event Information section as well as it has been updated to display information for both clubs. Both clubs will still have their own points and titles, so you will still effectively be participating in two different clubs as separate entities! The only key exception to this is that some titles, those mostly awarded through testing, will be shared between both. This includes SD, TD, HT, and CGC tests. Qualifier events, such as the Breed Stability Test and Certificate of Achievement, will also be shared between the SKA and SIKC. Integration Events. In order to welcome SKA to being hosted on the same forum as SIKC, we will be holding a small sample of events that will offer points to both clubs! These will primarily be held within SKA's sections, so look out for those throughout the next month or so. New Forum Theme. For those looking for a change of pace or simply a darker screen option, the SKA's original forum skin is now being offered as an option of users to select! Agencies. The SKA and SIKC are proud to announce that we will now be offering individuals the opportunity to run their own agencies! These are kennel club-affiliated training agencies for the disciplines of Service Dog, Therapy Dog, and General Training. By having dogs participate or originate from these application-approved agencies, they will have significantly increased odds of succeeding in their relevant tests - and even some events! In order to receive these bonuses, the agency must be approved via application by the Administrative Team. We will keep an up-to-date list of all officially approved agencies on the forum so that people know who they can seek out for these opportunities. These agencies will also be awarded a certificate that they may post to their respective service threads. Look out for the application to be added to the website shortly!
Please note, this means that all current dogs being claimed as Service or Therapy Dogs are not considered certified/licensed/recognized until they pass their tests! This goes for all services currently offering these dogs as well, unless they have been approved by SIKC and SKA![/ul]

01 January, 2020 Something we’ve talked about for quite a while and have finally managed to get up and ready for the community. The old Jimdo website will still be maintained and updated as needed but all links will now redirect to the new Wix website found here.[/ul] [/ul] We’ve been working on these for… well quite a while at this point, and are hoping to finally start releasing these to the community this month.[/ul] - We’re very behind on our HoM awards, once we’ve consolidated those that have yet to be voted on we’ll determine the ‘Last HoM of 2019’ internally and reveal a couple of the new aspects to this award we’ll be including for the future. We’ll also be much better about these in the future and not let it go so long before we hand out the award. [/ul] [/a] registrations are tentatively open again! Our requirements on these will be far stricter, your activity level and consistency with sticking to a singular breed will have a large impact on your application. If you’ve consistently created and abandoned Novus breeds we will likely outright reject the application.[/ul] [/a] leadership applications are open again! Our requirements on these are a bit stricter. Activity levels, engagement with the SIKC/SKA community specifically, understanding of the breed you’re applying for, and understanding of at the very least coat colour genetics will be things we consider with an application. [/ul] leadership is still closed for the moment. We would love to get some feedback, either on the forums or in the discord channel, about what sort of responsibilities the community would like to see from their Group Club leaders.[/ul] Registration Changes You will now need to include both the line of the dog you’re registering as well as what club standards you used when creating the dog - this is to help us know right away what standards we should be looking at when judging eligibility without having to slow the process down by contacting you for clarification.[/ul] We’ve seen a whole lot of burn out from people that are starting their accounts by registering 5 or more dogs all at once, in an effort to help combat that and encourage people to foster closer connections to their Foundation dogs we’ve increased dog registration to 250$ per dog, 150$ per puppy, 200$ per litter, 1000$ per kennel and 200$ per additional prefix/suffix past the secondaries. Accounts that were created before July 2019 that already have their starting funds will still need to fill out their Introduction Post before any dogs or kennel can be registered. If you’ve registered no dogs prior to 01 Jan, 2020 a completed Introduction Post will allow you to register your first 2 dogs at the old price of 75$ each.[/ul] Coats that have been commissioned and given a clear verbal agreement for the dogs to be used with the SIKC may only be registered if they fit standards and are not later released publically. You are not guaranteed registration just because you commissioned someone! We highly encourage people to instead participate in the community and make use of the Import Services, Rescue Services, and Rehoming services that various community members offer. Dogs that carry stock EA coats will no longer be registered! Dogs that are of a solid colour (blacks, yellows, browns) must have some form of coat details added to help differentiate them from others - We very much understand how hard it is to get any sort of variation when it comes to solid coloured dogs but as we can't very well get a feel for the dogs fur texture or see slight variations in pigmentation we need the dogs to, in some way, stand out from every other solid coloured dog that comes in for registration.[/ul] Discord UpdatesMisc Mentions[/ul] [/ul]
And last but certainly not least we’ve got some Anniversary Events coming up!
Our annual Gala, along with the gala lot that’s seen some wonderful updates thanks to Kaiser , will be running this month along with a new Prestige show type that we’ll announce sometime next week! Find more information on that on our new event page here.

22 January, 2020 - Registration Updates & New Shows! Litters will not be registered any sooner than one (1) month after a bitches initial registration. » Litters will not be registered if the bitch has not completed at least one (1) show or trial since registration. » And as a reminded: A bitch is limited to three (3) litters. She will be marked in the registration forms after each litter and once she's whelped the maximum we will no longer register any puppies from her. [/ul] The National Championships has gone live!

29 March, 2020 - Current and Upcoming ChangesStarting next month, everyone can expect to start seeing SIKC host events during both the first and second half of the month! We heard you when you said that that last week or two waiting for results can be a bit tough, so we wanted to ensure we start stretching out show availability without also having less in the beginning of the month. Our other goal is to make sporting titles more accessible. Since there are so many of them, we just weren't getting them out fast enough for dogs to grab a title before retiring! Our new show system is going to have a very specific four-month (irl) rotation, meaning you can expect to see every single trial that the SIKC offers at least every four months! As always, we do encourage people to apply to get their own shows affiliated so that we can hopefully have the more popular shows occurring more frequently as well. SIKC and SKA are very grateful to have had some excellent people join our team as both full and trial judges, so it is thanks to them we have the opportunity to toss up more events.
While we will announce our trial judges later as they become full judges, big thanks to the dedication and perseverance of both @faringdonkennels and PLSR BULLIES for being our newest full judges. What you can expect: Our monthly All-Breed Conformation Show will continue to run as-is. » We will be including a Group-Specific Conformation Show each month as well, where approximately half of the breed groups will be able to attend. Each month this will alternate to accommodate the other half of the groups. These shows will have RNG results unless a Group Club offers to host for the month. We believe this will help some dogs struggling to place or title to have a shot at winning and also help keep some of the workload down for staff by making results random (you still need to watch the rules though)! » We will also have two trials hosted in the beginning of the month alongside these Conformation Shows. » For the second half of the month, expect to see a total of three trials being hosted! » Depending on monthly workload and the personal lives of our team, 1-2 of these trials may also be judged according to RNG but we will always let you know if that is the case in the thread post first! [/ul] One of our admin team has moved accounts! If you are looking for Madison, formerly Jordan Hall , rest assured she is still here and helping with the site! She has simply moved her account over to Madison Wyatt instead, so if you ever need her be sure to pop over to that page instead when looking to message her.
How to apply for your SKA titles. [/ul]
